The Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s
annual tour to the South of Scotland this year includes a
performance of popular classics in Galashiels. Orchestra Principals
Alison Mitchell and Rosie Staniforth are the soloists in Arthur
Honegger’s delightfully enjoyable chamber concerto, and the
programme concludes with Beethoven’s 2nd Symphony – a
work full of beautiful, sunny melodies despite the composer’s
depression at his increasing deafness.
One of Scotland’s five national
performing arts companies, the Orchestra has recently received
numerous accolades for its concerts, recordings and international
touring performances. Don’t miss it!
“There is not a band in the land that can hold a candle to the SCO…
They are a wonderful band, world-class….” The Herald
